What's the difference between when Users are "First Seen" vs. when they are "Signed Up"?

We create users (not leads) via Segment events, and I get wildly different numbers when I filter Users by these two data points. For example, if I look at the number of users who "Signed Up" yesterday, I may see single digits. But when I filter by users "First seen" yesterday, I get like 75.

IntercomFirstSeenHey @peter r there may be more to it, but if the user has ever visited your site before and intercom is installed on it, they will appear in the first seen filter. If you hover over the headings in the contacts view, it gives you a brief overview of how each column is calculated. If you're adding users yourself, perhaps previously added users are going to your site for the first time on that day? Hope that helps.
