Outbound

Hello, I want to create a tour to show a post to our users.However, there's only "insert image" and "embed video" options. So, I cannot add buttons or choose reaction type like we do in outbound posts. Is this intentional? I like that tours can be tested easily and triggered programmatically in our code. Apart from the full functionalities, what other benefits does outbound post have over product tour post? Thanks in advance!

Hey, We're using messages to point users proactively to individual Youtube videos embedded in the messages. Is there any way to track if people actually use them?

Currently our application pushes events to users as they occur. I would like to automatically add a specific tag to the user when some exact event happens. Is it possible to do it from Intercom settings?

We have some processes or flows that happen within a pop up in our app. This makes it difficult to target how a tour gets triggered to start.

I have the below rule set up, we send this Survey out 1x a week, so there is a chance that they get the email for giving us an 8, if they then give us a 1, and then a 9/10 - will this add them back into matching the rules "again"? Or does it remember the first time this user matched the audience and ignore any future ones?I don't want this email to go out multiple times, just the first time it matches, but the scores tend to go up and down and I am worried this will remove then re-add them to being a match.I hope this makes sense! haha.  Thank you!!

We have SaaS product built using React. The issue is when the components gets re-rendered (it disappears and appears in just milliseconds, not visible in naked eye ofcourse) it breaks the product tour and it points to the top left corner and literally pointing to nothing.  What I think is happening is that, the component disappeared then since the Product tour couldn't find the element it will just point to the top left corner, but that's just in milliseconds. Stopping the elements from re-rendering could be tough job for us but possible, so I'm asking if this is possible to fix or any workaround.

I am really struggling to use the News feature, so I am wondering if someone could share some tips for using it. We have many different products, and users can subscribe to just one of them, or all of them, or anything in between. When we want to publish product-specific News, I never manage to target people so that they get all of the News that are relevant to them. This is because News is deviating from the tried and trusted way of setting audience rules for other outbound content. If a person is in one Newsfeed, they can't be in another!So for example a client needs to see news for product X and product Y. If I publish news for product Y (targeting all users of the product) and then publish news for product X (targeting all users of that product), the client will only see the news that are at the top of the newsfeed list. We're trying to send occasional emails from our company and not from a person. Is there a way to do this? It looks like all emails are formatted to be sent as "name from company name" and we'd like to send them just from the company.

For example, if a Visitor or Lead visits our Review page, then visits our Pricing page (both for more than 10 seconds each), I can then trigger an outbound bot to reach out. I know that we can specify if someone visits a single page, but I didn't see a way to create a rule where someone visits two (or more). The same goes for the amount of time spent on the page and whether the chosen time can be applied to more than one page.

I spent hours (2x in a row) creating a Product Tour and it's nowhere to be found. The first time I created my Product Tour, I selected Preview at the bottom of the window and received a message that my changes may not be saved so I canceled out of it and then BOOM - the page lost all setup components and I was unable to get back to the create screen.  I tried again thinking "this time I wont preview it before it's saved and closed". I spent over 2 hours making the same Product Tour again, selected Save & Close, and then... gone. It's not in Intercom at all! The ONLY thing I can think is that I forgot to add a subject/title (it's kinda hidden up at the top and isn't required), and I was not prompted to do so when I saved it - but that's it! If that was the reason, wouldn't the tour be saved as a draft as "Unknown" or something for the title?  I hesitate to work on them again in case it doesn't save again.

Hey there 👋 We're thinking about using Intercom for transactional messages instead of SendGrid. However we've run into a security issue that we haven't been able to solve yet. If we send emails with highly sensitive data (for example a password reset code/link as mentioned in your blog post) then anyone in the team who can access Intercom messages could hijack the customer's account using that sensitive data. That is not acceptable. Is there any way we can mark certain parts of the message as sensitive so that neither the Intercom UI nor any data API/export exposes them? Thank you, Marc

Where are the sticky issues that I can check? Are there any reasons they wouldn't display? Is there a specific setting needed to get them to display?

Hi Community, I've been playing around with checklists and am wanting to set up a choice of two onboarding checklists for anyone signing up to our app.  The idea is that they hit our welcome page and are offered two buttons - Learn more, or Get Set up. This covers the two jobs that people come to our site to do. On each button sits the code to trigger the specific checklist they select. My issue is that I can't find a way to stop the checklists popping automatically. If I turn off the rules in the checklist, it doesn't pop at all if you use the sharing link. If I have rules switched on, the checklists pop automatically before I have time to get them to press their button. Anyone come across this or have a magical idea that will allow me to do this? Would I possibly create an event based on the pressing of the button? (That seems a bit asynchronous though) Thanks,Brent

I have a push notification that I want to send on the Sunday 7+ days after an event occurs. I have an exit event that could happen at any time.  My scenario: So a user enters the series on a Friday. It waits 7 days which puts them on the next Friday and it schedules the message to send on Sunday (2 days later). On the following day, Saturday, the exit event happens. Will they be removed from the push sending? Or will they still get it because it was scheduled? I want it to not send FYI.

Looking to integrate Intercom's product tour within our application. The application front end is built using web components. A technology that uses a concept called shadow dom. Applications that use the shadow dom technology can not have elements found within web components using the browser's native element querying approach.  If more information is needed like a demo of some sort feel free to reach out directly.

We are trying to set up a banner on top of our help center page, where it says to be aware of scams for more information click here and send our customers an FAQ regarding scams. We don't understand how to settle up the banner in the URL we need. TYVM

We serve 3 regions and therefore have 3 different 'book in a call' links based on timezones. I want to be able to create one dynamic content block for 'booking in calls' and insert it into all of my emails (rather than having to replicate the same dynamic content block into every email we send). Then anyone creating emails can use this dynamic content block, and also if the links or regions change, I only need to update it in one place.

I activated a survey in intercom and when I set the rules, it was supposed to send to around 300 users based on the rules I set. However, when I checked on the reports, it's showing as "0" sent, am I missing something? The survey has been live for 5 days.

I have configured product tour for my SaaS application. I am triggering start of the product tour with my application's frontend with JS API Intecrom('startTour', 'tourId'). Product tours will be shown to some of users. And I want to have custom logic in my application for users who completed product tour (navigate user to another page or show some different text). So I need to detect if user completed product tour. Is there any way to track that user completed all steps of the product tour? May I have some JS callback for that event, for example: Intecrom('onProdcutToutCompleted', { ... some custom logic })? Or may be there are exist other ways to catch event of finishing product tours? Thank you in advance!

Our SaaS product is spread across different environments, which receive code at a different cadence. Env A gets a fresh deploy on Monday. Env B follows on Tuesday and so on. How can I configure Product tours so it can dynamically decide whether a new application version has been deployed or not in that environment? I do not want to trigger a tour if the feature is not yet available.
