May I know how to configure the URL for Reply in our Messenger button? Currently it is not working for me when merchants click on that button.

We're experiencing an issue where some users are unable to access the chat on mobile.We're using the Flutter SDK in our app. We've already verified that the affected users are correctly registered in our database, and the ID information is being passed properly. Interestingly, the chat is working fine for other users.How can we resolve this issue?  

Hello, I’m trying to install the in app chat to my SaaS product. We send both email and user id, but the user id is the only thing intercom is taking. Here’s the initiation code:window.Intercom?.('boot', { api_base: 'https://api-iam.intercom.io', app_id: 'lv2etfg0', name: email, email, user_id: userId user_hash: intercomIdentityVerification?.userIdHash }); Ideally I would like to get also the email address, since just the user id doesn’t help me recognize who is the user. Please assist! 

We have Intercom installed in our web-based app but lately 20% of our users are experiencing issues with being unable to close the chat - there is no 'x' or down arrow appearing in their window. Even if it shows the down arrow, clicking it will not close the chat. The only way to get it working again is by refreshing the page.Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a permanent fix?

Dear community. I'm opening this thread to have the following checked. I want to use the conversations ids as protocols ids, and I want to pass this id automatically whenever the end-user opens a new chat with my team. I have set a custom bot (from new conversations) and I tried to find the conversation id on the following list:  But I wasn't able to find this option. Could someone give me a workaround for this? We've integrated Intercom Messenger into our web application, using JWTs for authenticated users.The backend flow is designed to find or create an Intercom contact for each user. If a contact doesn't exist, it's created with:{  "user_id": "intercomContactId",  "name": "our_user_email",  "email": "our_user_email",  "external_id": "userId_in_our_system"}This data is then included in the JWT sent to the frontend. The problem is that after several frontend reloads, Intercom creates multiple new contacts with the same user information. 

Is there a way, perhaps using CSS, to hide the three-dots menu button for downloading the transcript?Thanks you

Hi All,We’re testing Intercom’s Side Conversations feature on the Advanced plan and ran into a situation we didn’t expect.Here’s what happened: Agent 1 was actively chatting with a client in a conversation. Agent 1 started a side conversation (via email) with Agent 2 to ask for internal help. Agent 2 received the email and replied via their inbox (outside of Intercom). That reply appeared inside the original Intercom conversation (expected) AND was visible to the client (unexpected). A few hours later, the client could no longer see that reply (it seemed to disappear). We were under the impression that replies to Side Conversations via email are kept private and not shared with the customer, so we’re wondering: Is this expected behavior? Was something misconfigured in how we sent the Side Conversation email? How can we ensure these responses never surface to clients again? I’ve attached a screenshot for context. From time to time, agents cannot log-in and see different errors:Developer login page instead of regular one Or error “You’re running old version of the Intercom web app...” (hard clear of cache and cookies works from 3-4 attempt)Does anyone else encounters such behavior, or are we the only lucky one? :) What helped you with that?For the context, it happens with several people at once, different devices, different IP, location. We’re using react-native and the SDK version 8.5.0 on iOS 15+When our app boots, the user is logged out, so we run `Intercom.loginUnidentifiedUser()`The user then clicks Chat and we present intercom via `Intercom.present();`We then have a workflow/setting enabled for intercom to ask for the users email address (they’re not logged in)But when the input appears, you cannot click on it, if you do, it just toggles the timestamp on the input.  No matter how often we try click it, it doesn't work, we’ve tried on simulator, on device - multiple devices of diferent models and non of them work. Please advise.

We use Docusaurus for all our documentation and would like to centralize onboarding by embedding Intercom checklists and product tours directly into our docs.Our engineering team also built a custom search bot that scans our Docusaurus portal, but its button overlaps with the Intercom Messenger since both use similar placement and styling. To resolve this, we’re exploring two options: Embed Intercom content (like checklists and product tours) directly in Docusaurus pages, without relying on the Messenger or Help Center. Integrate our custom search bot into the Intercom Messenger via API, so we can unify both experiences in a single UI element. Are either of these approaches supported? Or is there another recommended way to host or display Intercom-created content outside of the default Help Center and Messenger?Thanks!

We use chat with Fin AI and we are glad of how AI answers. Also, we have an technical Documentation page (API docs). Users often asks support about code examples. Fin AI answers perfectly. But chat window is too small for this purpose. I recently added the Intercom SDK to my Next JS web app. The problem is that when a user is not authenticated and opens the chat and then tries to log in.After logging in, they will receive the attached screenshot error when they try to open a new chat or read the old chat.I added logs to the useEffect and correctly sent user data to the Intercom as options.After reloading the page, it works properly. And I have to mention that if I don’t open the chat before logging in and try to log in, it works well. Hello,  I was recently testing the keyboard navigation on my help site and while most things work really well, when viewing a response in the Messenger I can’t seem to navigate into the Sources section. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if this isn’t currently possible. I would like all my users, including those only using keyboards, to be able to navigate to the bot’s sources. 

Curious if Intercom has a feature (or workaround) that can visually highlight high-LTV customers in the inbox view — maybe the top 10% based on spend or subscription tier? I currently use Stripe for payment processing but the Stripe integration doesn’t seem to have this feature.Basically, I’m trying to make sure support agents can instantly spot who’s worth prioritizing or giving more attention to, especially when ticket volume spikes.Does anyone currently do this, or is there a native feature I might’ve missed?

Same as for a workflow, I would like to be able trigger my News tab in the chat messenger to specific users only. In that way, I would like to set up rules. For instance, I would like a News XYZ to be visible only for Users A, but not for users B & C. 

We operate in 2 countries and 4 languages. Each “app” needs to be split into 5 different versions.We quickly reached the limit of 22 apps to be added to the Messenger Home in the settings > channels > messenger Any way to go above 22?

How can I manage the article suggestions that comes in the messenger when a user asks a question? Lately we have been having issues with the article suggestions and want to improve/change it 

Is it possible to force the agents in our system to tag conversations before they close them? For example if an agent were to attempt to close the conversation without tagging it, it would send a message saying 'Please tag this message first!' and it would prevent them from closing the conversation

Hi everyone,Is it possible, in Intercom, to have on the Home page for Messenger (both Web and Mobile) to have a link or a button/widget that allows customers to call a specific number?I’ve managed to place a “tel:+1” on a message in a workflow, but I haven’t been able to place a number that’s easily accessible both on web and on mobile SDK. e.g.: Customer opens Messenger and clicks on an element and that straight calls the number reflected there, just for easier access.Also, on Home (Web) by customizing it with Apps the external links one interestingly accepts “mailto:” , but not “tel:”Any help? Or am I asking for features that don’t exist? 

We use intercom messenger in our vue app. In out general components(App.vue) in initializing intercom as Intercom({ app_id: process.env.INTERCOM_APP_ID })then after getting user info from backend i call:boot({ app_id: process.env.INTERCOM_APP_ID, user_id: user.id, name: user.name, }).And finally if user log out i call:shutdown()boot({ app_id: process.env.INTERCOM_APP_ID })Script works but when user opens messages in tab after logout and then log in, it see his username and everything except for his messages. It doesn’t showing. But if open widget only after log in in shows because i see spinner so there going fetch for messages. If user reload page also works. Problem appears after log out and log in

My security team is worried about allowing customers to send us image files in messenger. Is this a valid concern? Is there a way to get malware through messenger? Is anyone here restricting your file uploads?This is my third company that I've been at that uses intercom, and I've never heard this concern expressed before. So while I don't want to dismiss it, the documentation feels pretty clear about how safe this is. Plus, I need customers to be able to send us screenshots.  Thanks in advance. 

Hi, I am very new to Intercom and so far, so good. However, I'm having to use it via a tab in my Safari browser on desktop, whereas its an app on my iPhone.The browser version is really hit and miss for giving notifications and I keep missing customers.I'm used to using apps like Slack on my desktop which make staying in touch really easy. Is there not a way to have Intercom as a stand alone app on my desktop Mac?Thanks in advance for any help!Rob
