Is it possible to connect to the intercom API behind a reverse proxy?

Hi everyone Our application is deployed on the web and used by some customers with tightly regulated browser settings. Would it be possible to use the javascript SDK to connect to intercom through a reverse proxy so we don't need to ask our customer's tech teams to allow-list intercom's various API and SDK addresses? Many thanks

How can I pass Instagram user data?

I have successfully linked my Instagram account, and new IG messages are showing up in my Intercom inbox, however none of the user's info/data show up with the message.Any suggestions to ensure that the IG user info passes over to Intercom?

When using the HubSpot integration to create leads manually - I am receiving this error message: "We failed to create HubSpot lead with email@address.com"

We've made no changes on the HubSpot or Intercom side - anyone else come across this before or have any ideas on how to resolve it?

How to insert content from conversation details app?

I'm working on an app that a team member can search our content database. When they click on a content in the search result, it should insert that content (with image, link and text) to the conversation. So far I got most of it done except for inserting content to conversation part. How do I do that? Thanks!

Cannot save live custom actions? also where is the documentation on what Intercom needs to not throw an error for a custom action?

what it says in the title. I want to update the endpoint for a custom action and tweak the body a little bit. the custom action is currently live.  when I make the changes and test things are fine, however I cannot hit the "save" button at the top of the page, its greyed out. this issue happens across both my login and one of the developers working with me.  additionally, I am getting the error message "Custom action failed while processing the response from 3rd party API." this happens with one of my API endpoints but not the other, despite everything coming through fine from Intercom to my API endpoint and intercom showing the response when I test. What exactly does intercom need me to pass it so that it considers the call a "success?"  the only help article I can find is this one and it does not cover my issue. https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/6298282-setting-up-a-custom-action. intercom takes a good chunk of time to get questions like this to

I would like to add QA and developer emails to a allow list for our test environment and block all other outbound emails by default. Is there any way to set that up in Intercom?

Is it possible to put a custom app on a contact page (Contacts)?

Hi everyone. Hope you are doing well I've developed a custom Intercom application that works properly in Inbox (within a conversation page). It's created according this documentation with help of build-in Canvas Kit. I need to put this app in Contacts (with a contact details page) to let my teammates communicate with our customers faster. As of right now, they have to manually create a conversation first to do an action with the custom app. But this documentation page says that custom apps can be integrated with Inbox pages only.  I've seen some screenshots with a public app available in Intercom app store located on a contact page. But I don't see any settings how put my app there. Is it technically possible?

I want to sync ALL users and companies to my CRM together with ALL historical conversations

My problem is that I want to sync ALL users and companies to my CRM AND ALL historical conversations - so when we engage with a customer for onboarding and account management activities we can see all support history via Intercom.  I need to sync conversations to my CRM - we are now using Close (having used Hubspot and Pipedrive previously)  Something similar to this here: https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/2128216-hubspot-app-send-leads-and-conversations-to-hubspot(but needs to import all historical)  Currently, we are dancing between the two platforms (not very well or fun). I have spent a bunch of time being a (far too complex) integration with Zapier but I think this ultimately ends in frustration as it needs to be something more native or adequately supported by Intercom.  It's also a bit of a data governance issue for us because if Intercom dies on us we don't have these records anywhere else.  How can I sync all historical conversations to an external service?

We utilize the Jira/Intercom integration to connect our Development team with our Customer Service inquiries. We'd like to see how many conversations are linked to a certain Jira ticket or even just linked to tickets in general. Has anyone found a simple way to do this?

Are the hooks available, to develop an app that can respond to chat messages?

We have a system that provides interactive demos and walkthroughs, and would like to be able to enhance our rep's ability to suggest them as admins from within Intercom. Is the table set in such a way that we can make this happen? Example Use Case:An agent is on chat with a customer that wants help with single sign onThe agent clicks a button, searches SSO, and our hit appearsThe agent clicks on this hit, and it is injected into the conversation (ideally, we have the ability to inject meta info and images as well!)The customer sees a nice image and link as a result of the agent's injection of content Thank you!

I am having problems setting up a Custom Objects/Custom Actions integration from my company's system to Intercom. Can you assist me with that?

Hello,I am developing an integration from my company's system to Intercom using the new features of Custom Objects and Custom Actions, but I have not been able to retrieve in my Custom Bot as a Data selection button the data mapped to my Custom Object.I have already set up the right relationships from my Custom Object to the People and Conversation objects following this tutorial (https://www.intercom.com/help/en/articles/6298283-setting-up-the-right-relationships-with-custom-objects), but no buttons are being shown in my bot.Can you assist me setting this up? As this is a new feature, I could not find any other help in the Intercom Help Center.Thank you,

How to send a payload to a webhook on conversation end?

Hi,  I have the simplest of questions. I have an extremely simple set of outbound conversations that go identify product-> capture product specific data -> end conversation -> generate lead for callback  when I have enough for a lead for that specific product, I want to take everything captured and fire it off to a webhook. I cannot for the life of me figure out how this happens in intercom, all of the help articles talk endlessly about webhooks and there are screenshots of a place you can stick your https webhook url but absolutly no description of how to get to that screen, and how to trigger a payload send when you close an outbound conversation.  I would also love to just preview what the payload looks like so I can get started on integration work into our CRM - it seems like you cannot do this without sending to a webhook? which as described above I cannot figure out how to do.  I am waiting on an intercom architect to have a free meeting slot to walk me through this, but

Messenger break styling in Next.js + emotion

I am having ab issue in a Next.js app. It only happens when the app is on mobile size, right after opening and closing the messenger and navigating to a different route the styling breaks. If I refresh the browser, the styling reset to its original state. This behaviour is not presented on desktop size.

Is it possible to open a "sheet" (iframe) from an inbox canvas app?

From the documentation it seems to only be supported on messenger apps and not inbox. If this is the case, are there any plans for it to be supported on inbox apps too any time soon? Thanks

Canvas does not render in the Inbox on Submit Response to the Submit Request originating from the Messenger

Hello,Our app responds to Submit Request originating from the Messenger with a Canvas to render. Prior to migration to the new Inbox, our Canvas was then rendered in both the Messenger and the Inbox. Now it only ever renders in the Messenger.Is this a bug or a feature? or am I missing something? :)

Why is my Messenger ping timing out?

I cannot integrate to my web site.POST https://api-iam.intercom.io/messenger/web/pingnet::ERR_TIMED_OUT I did flow the integration to my web page but I got the error and dont know why.Im sure that I check all steps, copy script from the dashboard(included the app_id)...This took me a very long time. please help.Im using trial plan.

Canvas Kit App button is clickable by teammates if app button is url type. Is there a way to prevent this?

I am working on making a canvas kit app. In experimenting with button types, I have found that the url button types are clickable both by the chat user and the teammate responding to the chat. Compare this to an app with a submit button, which is greyed out on the teammate side and is not clickable. Is there a way to prevent a url type button from being clicked by the teammate? (In our use case, we want the url button to be a feedback survey, but we only want the chat user to be able to access the button, not the teammate). Alternatively, is there a way to redirect to a url from a submit type button? I experimented a little with having the server respond to the submit webhook with a redirect status (such as 301 or 307) but this has not worked. Thanks in advance for any help or workarounds. Image: chat on the right shows the teammate view, where the url button is clickable and the submit button is greyed out.

Does data from Salesforce sync with Intercom through the Salesforce app?

We have integrated Intercom with Salesforce. We now like to send smart messages through Intercom based on updated dialogue and data from Salesforce, but it looks to us that it does sync both ways?
