What is the best way to develop automated onboarding for our users?

I am looking to use the bot and our online articles to develop a workflow triggered when a new user logs in or a user who hasn't completed the articles logs back in. I'm relatively new to Intercom. Is there a guide to assist me with this? I'm also open to other ways of doing it so I welcome comments if you have suggestions!

Is there an easy way to build a categorized list of Product Tours that can be presented to customers in an App in Messenger?

Would be great to be able to build a few 'sets' of product tours, i.e., one set geared to each different 'user type', or 'skill level' etc, and present the grouped product tours in an App based on criteria. Is there any way to do this without custom code?

Is there a limitation on how many Product Tours can be created and/or set Live?

Our company uses Intercom for Marketing, Sales, and Support. I am wanting to create some product tours for internal training purposes but don't want to risk going over a limit if there is one.

what is considered as “when user encounter failure” in a tour.

i’m creating series which has a path where user completes tour then a custom bot comes up. however, if the user cancels the tour, I want the bot to still come up after they cancel. i don’t see a rule that caters to this. is this simply 'when user viewed tour'?

How can I do to make that my product tour follow me in 2 different websites ?

Hi I need to do a product starting on a website A and during the tour I have to do the user clic on an item that show you a feature in an other wbesite B (websites A & B have two different urls). I did mention "navigate somewhere" to set up all my pointer, but when I test it on preview when I click on the item to show the new website it reload itself to and stay on the first website and the product tour closes.

Is it possible to fire a JS event when the product tour has been completed?

We are adding a new product tour and want to show a custom Complete modal view (our app would be responsible for the code of the modals ) when the tour has been completed with some CTA buttons inside it. Is this possible?

Hi, I've set up a PT but all the pointer boxes are not aligning to the elements. Even if i narrow or widen the css selector fields. It always sits below the element. Any ideas on why this would be happening? Thanks

I want to create a tour across multiple pages. i read your article which explains that when i click save step, it automatically takes to the page of clicked element. but I do not see the 'save step' functionality in my tour builder.

Why does modal window appear before the page is loaded?

I have designed a multi page tour which guides users to different pages within the application to show them important features and what they can do. However, when a user traverses from one page to another page, the modal window (as part of the product) tour appears even before the actual page is loaded. For end users the tour appears as a very wonky experience as a modal window/tooltip appears even before the page is loaded. Any ideas why this may be happening or how this can be resolved?

I've tried to use getElementByClassName('intercom-post') but its not good enough selector. Is there an api like Intercom('onShow', f()) for posts (not the messenger)?

I've been on the lookout for a way to include a checklist of sorts with our new user onboarding. A co-worker shared this from what I believe was Kajabi. It looks like they're Intercom users as well. Anyone know what this app/integration could be?

I would like to make a button on the website to trigger a tour multiple times.

So, the user could come back again and again and watch it through. Right now, it seems to be triggering once a day. You cannot rewatch it right away, nothing happens. What audience settings should I set?

Can I launch a tour using JS API, Intercom('startTour', 123);, from within an Intercom outbound element eg. banner, message or post? I prefer not to have ask product team to build a new element in our UI.

We already tried the inserting product tour using native intercom, it is limited to once per 24 hours. Thats why we need the JS option.

What's the best way to allow users to search for and take different product tours at a later time?

Ideally I'd like to have a 'tours' section in the messenger. Users could click this and access a range of tours within the product. I know there is the content showcase app we could add, but if we have a range of 20 different tours say, it doesn't feel like this would be ideal. Maybe create an article with links to tours, and showcase the tour article? Still doesn't feel ideal though. Any suggestions?

Can we give our users access to a list of Product Tours?

Hi all! We have a pretty complex product, and we wouldn't want to overwhelm the user by triggering too many product tours; instead, we would want to provide users with a list of product tours they can pick from and replay if needed. In our previous onboarding system, we did this by creating an announcement with a list of tours, and pinned that to the top of the system. However, I'm struggling to find a way to do this in Intercom-- the Messenger has a "content showcase" feature, but this can't be used to open Intercom announcements, only external links. Does anyone have an idea how we could recreate a "list of product tours" that's easily accessible for users? Thanks!

Hi all, I have a question for super users and product experts around product tours and sticky headers. I LOVE product tours but we're not using them to anywhere near their potential due to an issue between our site's headers and how product tours scroll. We've followed all the articles to fix it and raised it a couple of times with Intercom support but I'm keen to know if anyone has dealt with this before or know's a trick that could somehow get it working for us. To explain it further when you point to elements in your product tour steps and you're travelling down the page, the page scrolls perfectly, but as soon as you have to point back up to an element that you have scrolled past, the scrolling doesn't engage properly. Pic below. In the top pic, (when editing the step) the element is selected properly and is how it should appear but it appears on our site like the second pic, where half the header is selected and half the element. We've tried all the "scroll-margin-top:" fixes in t

Share Product Tours within a Series as additional help during Inbox conversations.

When Product Tours are added to a Series, those Product Tours are not available to share as additional help material during Inbox conversation replies. This must be made available. Here's and example of why: 1. Series full of various Product Tours targeted at new users to LEARN the application; based on what page/screen user lands a respective Product Tour surfaces. 2. A 'How-To' support Inbox conversation comes in from any user (new, active/old) and a Support agent believes a Product Tour from that Series might be very helpful and provide hands-on (in-context help). But, the Product tours that are part of a series are NOT available to insert in Inbox replies. :( Intercom Support says this isnt possible since it defies the very purpose of a Series (send only upon rules defined in the series, which makes sense logically). I've gotten the workaround suggestion from Intercom support: Recreate your tour outside of the Series, turn off the Show automatically feature, and turn on the Use tou

Hello everyone! I have a list of banners that depends on specific field that the user sends.

1) Users see one of my banners; 2) User clicks dismiss button; 3) User will never see this banner again; Question: How to show this banner to the user again if the user again sends data to trigger the banner; Example: if user send "banner_type: yellow" -> we show yellow banner; The user clicks the 'X' button and changes the "banner_type" field from yellow to red; Then the user again sends "banner_type: yellow" --> for now we don't show the yellow banner again because the user previously clicked the dismiss button (NEED TO FIX THIS). Do you have a mechanism for this? Thank you in advance!

Trigger for custom form elements.

Hi all, I want to attach a step to the custom dropdown form element. But because it's not an HTML SELECT element (I use ng-select), I can't use standard triggers for tour advance. "Click on the element" is not suitable, because when clicked the user jumps to the next step without possibility to select any dropdown option. "Fill in the field" opens dropdown but does not respond to option selection. Plus, options are overlapped by the tour's backdrop. "Next or Done button" blocks dropdown at all. User can't interact with it. Is there any standard solution for such custom form elements? Or what would you suggest to me for this case?

Can I build a Product Tour on dynamic URLs?

Our saas product has dynamic URLs that bring up different results as part of a search. I would like a tour to be dynamic as well. How can the tour move from page to page? Is it one tour or multiple?
